FolderMind in two and a half minutes

What FolderMind is, what you need to start and how it works over a day. The video has no sound; the full transcript is below it.

What FolderMind is, what you need and how to start, then a day with the assistant. Two and a half minutes, no sound.
Text of the video

7:30. Every morning, the most urgent thing.

Assistant: "Good morning. The most urgent thing today is the electricity bill, €142 by Thursday. Then: the Rossi firm has been waiting for its quote since Monday, and Emma's passport expires in 30 days."

  • Home: electricity bill, €142 by Thursday.
  • Professional: quote for the Rossi firm.
  • Paperwork: Emma's passport, in 30 days.

There is a lot to remember, and it is all in different places. FolderMind keeps it together and reminds you first.

What FolderMind is: a folder, not an app. You download it once and connect it to Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant: inside are the instructions that make it work as a personal assistant.

  • FolderMind's part: the assistant's instructions.
  • Your instructions: how you want it to work.
  • Your data: memory, notes, documents.

Before you start, what you need.

  • A Windows or Mac computer.
  • The Claude desktop app.
  • A Claude Pro subscription, a paid plan from Anthropic.

Claude's free plan does not work on the files on your computer.

The first five minutes.

  1. Extract the folder. On Windows: right-click, Extract All, then into Documents. On a Mac: double-click.
  2. Open the Claude app and connect the folder. In the tab for working on files, next to Chat: Documents, then FolderMind.
  3. Type the first message: "read START-HERE and begin".
  4. Answer a few questions. Name, household, priorities. In about five minutes the assistant is ready.

13:10. A photo, and it becomes a to-do.

You: "Emma's blood test results are in."

Assistant: "Filed in Emma's folder. The paediatrician wanted to recheck her ferritin: shall I add booking a blood test by 15 November?"

  • Health: book the blood test, by 15 November.

17:40. It remembers the children's expenses too.

You: "Yes. And the school is asking for €35 for the trip."

Assistant: "Added to Emma's expenses, to pay by Friday. You'll find it in tomorrow's morning email, together with the blood test."

  • Children's expenses: school trip, €35 by Friday.

21:00. In the evening, ten minutes to complete a kit. For each kit, a completion session reads your documents and, if you wish, your email, and fills the folder for you: the sources, the missing documents, three or four questions at a time, the summary to approve, as nothing is written before your yes.

The next day, 7:30. It is already in your email:

  • book Emma's blood test, by 15 November;
  • school trip, €35 by Friday.

The email is sent from your computer. At the time you choose, if the computer is on and the Claude app is open. From the Claude app on your phone you can start a session on the computer, if it stays on with the app open.

Your data stays on your computer. FolderMind does not see it. When Claude reads it, the text goes through Anthropic's servers, as in any conversation with Claude.

Start with FolderMind Base, then the kits you need: FolderMind Base, the base kit, needed by the others; Home, Paperwork, Health, Professional. One payment for the folder. No FolderMind subscription.

Choose your kits at foldermind.app. Works with Claude. Requires Claude Pro. An independent project, not affiliated with Anthropic.
