A digital second brain with Claude
A digital second brain, or digital brain, is one place where you keep what you need to remember and a method to find it again at the right time. With Claude and the instructions of FolderMind you can build one without learning another app.
What it is
The idea is simple: deadlines, bills, documents, medical reports, commitments and notes live in one orderly place, and an assistant keeps an eye on them for you. A second brain is not there to help you remember more: it is there so you do not have to remember everything.
Why Claude alone is not enough
Claude can read a document and answer your questions, but without the instructions and the information of FolderMind it starts from zero every time and you would have to explain everything again. A second brain needs a memory and a method.
How you build it with FolderMind
- FolderMind on your computer. It holds the instructions for Claude, your preferences and your data. The data stays on your computer and FolderMind has no access to it; how Claude handles it is in the privacy notice.
- You tell it where to look. You can ask the assistant to search your documents, in folders on your computer, on an external drive or, if you have connected Google Drive, in your Drive, for what it needs to know who you are, what your priorities are and what your deadlines are. It writes to FolderMind only after your yes.
- Each kit looks after a part of your life. Home, Paperwork, Health, Professional and Co-parenting; FolderMind Base gathers the things to do and deadlines of every kit in one place.
- Your day at a glance. Ask “What do I need to do today?” and find what is urgent and what is due; with the morning email, if you turn it on, you receive them without asking.
Even if you are not comfortable with technology
You need no technical skills: you only have to download a file and write a message, and the getting-started guide walks you through it step by step. Questions about the first setup are answered by email, at no cost.

What it is not
- It is not an app or an online service: it is instructions for Claude, and it needs a computer with the Claude app and a Claude Pro subscription.
- It does not replace a doctor, an accountant or a lawyer: it organises information and prepares the right questions.
